What is Digital Valdosta?
Digital Valdosta was established July 7, 2007, by me, Josh McClanahan. It started as a place for potential clients to find out about my services as a freelance web designer. This included a portfolio of my work as it does today.
However, with this latest renewing of the site design I decided I wanted it to be more than just that. I wanted to a place to share my knowledge. Whether that is something I just learned or have known for some time.
Services Offered
At this time I am offering three major services. I am not limited to these services, but these are the main focus.
Web Site Design
Designing web sites is the driving force of this business. I started learning it while stationed in Okinawa, Japan after a friend of mine introduced me to it and directed me to some resources. I continued learning it (as it goes for anything related to technology) when I returned home to the Valdosta, GA area at the local college and online.
Graphic Design
I have always had some talent in drawing, so while attending college I learned about photoshop and other design software. I continue to hone this skill to offer a more inclusive service for businesses in the Valdosta area. I feel that a business’ brand should be included not just in business card or bill boards. But in all media they use to advertise their business.
Computer Repair
Lastly, one skill that every web designer should have (in my opinion) to some degree, is computer repair and troubleshooting. I feel that it compliments my other skill sets. I say this because had I not had the knowledge learned in this field, I would have been handicapped in past situations. This brings up the tips category of this website.
Tips
In that category I will try to provide tips that may sound complex at first, but hopefully after reading the articles you will have a better understanding of the topic. I try to think of what every general computer user should know. Then expand on that knowledge to make them knowledgeable of their computer system. If you have topics that you are interested in learning more about. Feel free to contact me about that topic and I will try to cover that topic.
