Why update your website?
That is probably one question most businesses ask themselves when approached by a web designer. The answer simply put — revenue. We are all in business for that reason. But let’s break this down even further to learn why you should update your website.
To have a successful site two things are required: page rank and returning visitors. For your site do well on search engines such as Google or Yahoo, then you need good, fresh content to show that you have an active website. This also helps bring returning visitors as well.
If you don’t have fresh content on your website then visitors won’t have a reason to return often. Stale content is like eating stale bread. It may have nutrients but it is no longer as palatable as it would could if it were up to date. Also out dated content can be misleading if your business makes changes to policies or other content and your website is never updated.
I have good, fresh content. Now What?
Good content only goes so far. For the human element in a website you should also maintain a fresh, modern web design. Doing so will appeal to your visitors as they read your website.
If your website looks like it was made back in 1998 you really should consider having your website redesigned and modernized. Web designs, if coded with web standards in mind, will also help with SEO (Search Engine Optimization) results.
If you follow these rules and make sure that your web designer is experienced with creating web designs with SEO in mind then your web site will do great.
Until next time, have a blessed day.
